About This Blog

For some time this blog has been an opportunity for me to document adventures. Hopefully it has provided some insight, or served as a preview for those planning similar trips or heading to any of the places I’ve been. At this point I’m going to expand the definition of adventure. An adventure might mean more than just huge trips to Ultimate tournaments in Perth or Prague, or one of several off-road motorcycle trips through New England. Adventure can also be found in the day to day life of a curious, observant, critically thoughtful, and sometimes introspective fellow, depending on how you want to define it. I will continue to include ride reports and other travel-oriented adventures, and I will try to keep them organized by trip for easier browsing.

Part of what I perceive has held me back on a lot of fronts in Life (and with progress on this blog) may be my tendency to try to do things exactly right. Someone once said something along the lines of: “Perfect is the enemy of good.” or maybe it was “very well.” I’m going to start to use this space to fight that tendency; not because I don’t want things to be done as well as they can be, but because I want to feel like I’m making more progress. I want to fight the paralyzation caused by a superabundance of items on a ToDo list, and not even close to enough time to complete them.

Be forewarned that reading this blog will likely expose you to ramblings fueled by a combination of intense curiosity, ADD/ADHD, a desire for freedom and justice, and the frustration that comes as a result of chronic procrastination.

Note: The header photo was taken from the top of Mt. Percival overlooking Squam Lake in New Hampshire. It was shot with a friend’s iPhone on the panoramic setting, (and I ran around to the other side of the picture).
